Documenting Stories That Defy Censorship
Defying censorship, three LGBTQ+ playwrights from Kenya and Uganda navigate acceptance and resistance as their plays are staged at the 2022 Criminal Queerness Festival in NYC. Our team produced this impactful short documentary as part of the DGNL Gives Back Initiative. We coordinated interviews in East Africa and NYC, animated scenes, and scripted the narrative to amplify the voices of these LGBTQ+ playwrights.
